Short description:

The INGENIOUS project belongs to the Erasmus+ program category, KA2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, and specifically to KA226: Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness.

Digital literacy of Vocational Education Teachers (VET) is an imperative need today. The lack of familiarity of educators with new technologies in the context of educational practice emerged mainly in the pandemic period and the consequent need to provide educational work through online digital tools. In addition, the trainers constitute a role model for the students. The latter will be the future workforce within Industry 4.0 while considering the needs that arise for the smooth and successful adaptation to the new requirements. The INGENIOUS project strengthens the digital skills of VETs, thus providing additive value to their professional and pedagogical skills. The benefits of such an intervention are not limited to the near future. The logic of lifelong learning is promoted, while at the same time, we “build” a more stable, concrete, ready to react and adapt to the new reality educational system.

The project’s objectives are:

  • setting a framework for assessing digital competencies of VET educators,
  • designing the training path to be followed,
  • implementing the training path via a modern VOOC (Vocational Open Online Courses) platform, taking into account the trainers’ needs and the degree of digital accomplishment they possess,
  • conducting a pilot study to validate the whole process by deriving educational material from the field of green economy that has great potential to be applicable in a variety of modern industries and SMEs.
